Since its 12th Century origins, the building of the Church of St James The Great, Castle Acre, Norfolk, has benefitted from the generosity of those many people who have, over the centuries made provision for gifts supporting the fabric of this building.
For many centuries, this generosity has come principally from church-goers, but in more modern times, with dwindling congregations and secular attitudes, there are greater numbers of people who, whilst they may or may not be church-goers, are nonetheless interested and in many cases passionate, in ensuring this beautiful building is maintained in good repair not only for today, but for future generations also.
Since 2000, the Friends of Castle Acre Church have raised over £200,000 towards various restoration projects. These include:
2005 - Organ Refurbishment
2010 - New Oil Tank & Boiler
2017 - Tower Repairs
2022 - Chancel Roof Repairs
